Cougars land Islands best

Four star defensive tackle Tolifili Liufau (6-3, 290, 4.9) from Honolulu (Hawaii) St. Louis has decided that he will sign his NLI with the Washington State Cougars tomorrow morning.
There is no doubt that Liufau is the state’s best prospect. There are few that have his size, quickness and power. Liufau was selected ILH first-team all-star, and 2001 All-State selection. Liufau finished his career with 43 tackles for losses, and 18 1/2 sacks.

Liufau was hurt as senior and he missed some action but still he was an impressive force when Rivals100 saw him in action against Concord (Calif.) De la Salle.
Liufau considered schools such as Hawaii, Oregon and USC before deciding on Washington State.
Liafau more than likely will be a grade casualty and will have to go the JUCO route. Snow College was one JC mentioned.
USC thought enough of Liafau to place him at Pasadena CC.
The thing that the Cougars have to be careful of is that once Liafau goes JUCO he is eligible to be recruited by the likes of Hawaii, USC and Oregon all over again.
If Liafau does indeed defy the odds and ends up qualifying then the Cougars get another great player from St. Louis high school in Honolulu. Cougar standout QB Jason Gesser is an alum from St. Louis high.
Great get for the Cougars.
