Cuero offensive lineman Justin Freeman committed to the University of Houston in October, but could more Cuero prospects be heading into the Cougar den?
Freeman (6-3, 280-pounds) was an all-area selection as a junior and has the tools to play either side of the line.
"He's a physical player who I think is being recruited to play offensive line," Cuero assistant coach Travis Reeve said. "He is a little better run blocker right now, but he can improve as a pass blocker."
With Freeman in the fold, Houston assistants appear to be targeting wide-outs Trey Gray (6-0, 165-pounds) and Corey Scott (6-3, 176-pounds).
Gray has been offered by Houston, while Scott is an unknown who is turning heads with his size and speed. Both starred on Cuero's Class 3A state champion track team last season.
"They are both real burners," Reeve said. "Scott is leading the area in receiving after starring in the secondary last year."
Two juniors who are also garnering early attention are defensive ends Stephon Hargrove (6-2, 215-pounds) and Kaeron Johnson (6-2, 265-pounds).
"These two guys are getting attention from all of the Big 12 schools," Reeve said. "They don't have any offers, but they will have several in months to come."
