Cottam has two visits set

Germantown, Tenn., tight end Jeff Cottam has been very quiet about the recruiting process up to this point. He has left all doors open, but a few teams have always been in it. Now he has set three official visits with two slots remaining.
“I have a visit set up with Tennessee for November 7, Auburn for November 13 and Ole Miss for December 10,” Cottam said. “The visit to Ole Miss is not for sure yet, I have to double check on that one, it was going to be sooner, but something came up.”

The 6-foot-7, 250-pound Cottam ran an amazing 4.62 second 40-yard dash at the NIKE training camp in Atlanta. He also ran a 4.28 second shuttle, did 19 reps on the bench press and had a 28-inch vertical jump.
“Right now Ole Miss and Tennessee might be a little ahead, but not by much,” Cottam said. “Alabama, Notre Dame and Auburn are all also schools that I am looking at. I am going to try and set up visits with Alabama and Notre Dame probably.”
Cottam was a member of Germantown's Class 5A state championship team as a junior. He caught 14 passes for 160 yards and four touchdowns.
