Costello plans Michigan visit

K.J. Costello has been talking to Michigan assistant coach Doug Nussmeier for weeks and finally on Wednesday the 2016 star quarterback landed an offer from the Wolverines.
"I've been talking to coach Nussmeier for close to a month now," Costello said. "He actually came out on my spring break so we were bummed that we missed each other.

"We finally got connected again and he came out (Tuesday) and watched practice. Everything went really well, really smooth and I gave him a call (Wednesday) and he made an offer."
Michigan is another major offer for the Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Santa Margarita Catholic quarterback who was the position MVP at the RCS Northern California. He's been phenomenal at numerous 7on7 events as well.
For weeks, Costello has not hidden that getting an offer from the Wolverines was something he was hoping for. After Michigan locked in a 2015 quarterback, the coaching staff moved on to 2016 and Costello landed an offer soon after.
For Costello, Michigan's offer is a major deal.
"It's very big," Costello said. "Just so far early in the process, everything I'm looking for in a college is kind of at Michigan already. The academic side, the pro-style offense and other things that I'm looking for, there's no doubt I have a lot of interest in Michigan.
"Like I've said, though, I don't want to jump the gun. I need to make visits and see all these colleges. I've heard a lot about it. My dad has a lot of good buddies who've been to Michigan and I've been talking to them and they absolutely love everything about it. Right now I have a really good vibe with Michigan."
Costello and others on his Body By Tra 7on7 team plan to visit Ann Arbor in mid-June. Trips to Notre Dame, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida and Florida State are also expected around the time of the IMG national tournament.
So far, Costello has been offered by Michigan, Cal, Florida State, Miami, Tennessee and Virginia.
