Costello after big targets

K.J. Costello had a final three but when he reviewed one particular school over and over again it was the toughest to turn down and so he had his decision made.
"The final three for me was Stanford, SC and Michigan," Costello said. "At the end of the day people ask me all the time why I chose Stanford, I was sold on all three of them but the education, everything about it, the system, how it was just set up for me, it just felt like a no-brainer.

"It was probably the hardest one for me to pass up therefore it was the one I had to jump on."
The Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Santa Margarita Catholic four-star quarterback committed to the Cardinal in recent weeks and he isn't looking back.
He said playing in a spread system would have been nice, too, but for a million reasons - one being getting prepared for the NFL - Stanford was too much to turn down.
"(David) Shaw was there with (Andrew) Luck," Costello said. "He knows what it takes to build a quarterback for the next level.
"A lot of colleges are going to that spread system nowadays and it's wonderful in college but I'm really trying to prepare and hopefully make my dream come true as far as the NFL. I feel like that's the best spot for me and I can't wait to get started with them."
Costello has already started recruiting for the Stanford class. And he's going big.
"Demetris Robertson who just de-committed from Alabama, he's an unbelievable athlete," Costello said. "We've been talking the past couple weeks and he really loves the place. He said it was his dream offer. He would be unbelievable.
"David Long is on our 7on7 team and once again it's his dream offer. It's just a special place. Guys would basically do anything to get that offer. And then, of course, Dylan Crawford, one of my best friends. He just transferred to my high school and we've been wanting to play together for the last year.
"Now he's actually at my high school so I'm working on him day-to-day so hopefully he can come along and we can make this a special 2016 class."
Costello threw for 3,123 yards and 23 touchdowns in his junior season.
