Cortazzo heading to the MAC

Irwin (Pa.) Penn Trafford wide receiver Tim Cortazzo concluded his recruitment a couple weeks back. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder is planning on taking his services to the MAC.
"I verbally committed to Toledo," he said. "I went up there for an unofficial visit when they played Bowling Green and I really liked it. From what I saw, they have a young team and their best quarterbacks are young. I also really liked the coaches. They've been hard on me since they offered."

The two-star prospect was impressed by the game he attended on his visit to Toledo.
"The atmosphere at that game was great," he said. "Plus, I'd put their record at home against any team in the nation. It was a great feeling to be on campus and I liked it a lot."
Cortazzo believes he'll have a shot to compete immediately for playing time.
"The coaches told me I'll be given the opportunity to play. It doesn't matter if you're a freshman or a senior, the best players will play."
Cortazzo helped lead Penn Trafford to the playoffs as a senior.
"We finished the year 5-5 and lost in the first round to North Hills," he said. "I did alright. It was tough since I was double and triple covered. I was also recovering from a high ankle sprain that I suffered in a scrimmage. I still ended up first team all-conference after hauling in 20 catches for 400 yards."
