Corpening may be closer to more offers

Cornerback Nolan Corpening out of Charlotte (N.C.) Vance continues to hold two offers. The 5-foot-10, 170-pounder has impressed on the camp circuit and believes he may be close to potentially landing a few more.
"I've got an offer from Charlotte and Air Force," he said. "I went to the Wake Forest, N.C. State and Clemson camps. They are all high on my list.."

All three schools told Corpening that an offer is possible.
"They want to see my transcripts," he said. "They all have been telling me I did everything good at the camps. I should be getting an offer, but I haven't gotten one yet. They said I was a good corner, although N.C. State is looking at me as a safety. Clemson said they want to wait till fall to watch me more."
Corpening is eyeing additional camps at Virginia, Maryland and UNC-Greensboro before summer is out.
He is also getting looks from the likes of Georgia Tech and Missouri. With a couple of offers and additional interest from a number of other schools, Corpening was asked if he had any favorites.
"I like Clemson, but I don't want to say it's my No. 1," he said. "You know, I definitely liked it down there and I visited before for their spring scrimmage. I like the environment and the coaching staff. The corner coach and defensive back coach spent a lot of time with me last Saturday. They responded and liked me. They talked to my parents for about 30 minutes. So yeah, there is a feeling of being at home too. They told me I was the best cornerback there, and Wake Forest and NC State said I was the best wide receiver."
