Cornist still taking it slow

Avondale (Ariz.) La Joya Community three-star all-purpose back Jeremiah Cornist has been taking things slow from day one, and that's not changed a few weeks into his senior season.
The 5-foot-9, 158-pounder still has one offer from in-state Arizona, but he says he's not ready to commit quite yet.

"It's basically just the same thing, with U of A really the only school that has shown interest and being my only offer," Cornist, the No. 20 player in Arizona, said. "Tim Kish and I have been keeping in contact a lot. I also talk to Michael Smith sometimes, too."
Cornist said he recently took in a game at Arizona and he liked what he saw.
"I went down there when they were playing Toledo," he said. "It was a great experience. I kind of got their a little late, but coach Kish is cool and let me go into the locker room after the game and stuff.
"The campus was really nice. It looked like a really good place and a place I could see myself at. Right now they (UofA) is my leader, but I don't really know when I'm going to commit. I'm kind of just letting everything play out and let it flow."
At this point, Cornist said he's not getting too much attention from other schools. But in the past, Arizona State, San Diego State and Utah had been linked to him.
So far this season he's had more than 100 yards of total offense in each of his games.
