Corner prospect will play quarterback

Though he is a cornerback prospect on the Division I level, Denver (Colo.) Thomas Jefferson's Derrick Martin is going to play quarterback for his high school team this fall.
"They have me going both ways," Martin said. "Playing corner on defense and quarterback on offense."

Martin is getting letters from Colorado, Washington, Kansas State, Arizona State, Arizona, Wyoming, and Missouri.
He attended camps at Kansas State, Colorado and Wyoming.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder says he has no favorites.
"Montana is the only school who has offered me a scholarship," Martin said. "But I think more teams will offer scholarships as my season season progresses. I have no favorites, and I am in no hurry to make a decision."
Martin also runs track for Jefferson, participating in the 100 meters, the 200 meters, and the 400 meters, as well as being on the 4x100 team. He also lettered in basketball.
