Corner is impressive

Hayworth, Calif., had four players who really showed their stuff at the NIKE Camp held in Palo Alto, Calif., on May 13th. Rivals.com has already profiled three of the four, last but not least is cornerback of the foursome from Hayworth is cornerback Donell Gaines (5-8, 175, 4.4).
"Donell was one of only three players that started both ways for a team that almost 100 percent two platoon," Hayworth coach Casey Moreno said. "We couldn't afford to have Donell on the bench."

"Donell is so dang explosive," Moreno said. "He's a difference maker."
"Donell recorded a 36-inch vertical at the NIKE Camp," Moreno said. "That's not all, the guy who was recording the verticals at the camp said that if Donell had a chance to jump a couple more times, he would have jumped in the 40-inch range."
"Donell plays a lot bigger than he is," Moreno said. "He covered the area's best wide receiver Mike Calvin who is 6-foot-3 and he pretty much held him in check."
"Donell is very powerful, very aggressive and has quick feet," Moreno said. "If he was taller there wouldn't be a college in America who wouldn't be recruiting him."
Air Force, San Diego State, Utah and UNLV are the schools that are showing him the most recruiting love in the early going.
