Cornell readies for first OSU visit

St. Paul (Minn.) Cretin-Derham Hall's Jashon Cornell has more than 20 scholarship offers, and the 2015 defensive end has visited many of those programs. One he has yet to visit is Ohio State, but a trip to Columbus is in the works.
"I think I am going to Ohio State for that Friday Night Lights Camp," Cornell said. "I haven't been to Ohio State, so I am really excited to check them out. I want to [compare] what they have to all the other Big Ten schools I have been to so far."

Cornell's most recent unofficial visit was to the Buckeye's Big Ten rival, Michigan, while he was in southeast Michigan in June for the Sound Mind, Sound Body Camp, a trip that matched the 2015 defensive end's expectations.
"It matched up really good," Cornell said. "I was looking to see what the campus was like, then I wanted to meet the coaches and see the facilities. Just looking at the Big House, it was amazing.
"The campus stacks up really good. Knowing that the Business School there is really ranked high and the facilities there were really good. They had a nutritionist on-site in the weight room."
Cornell also has plans to see a third Big Ten school later this month. Minnesota's campus is a short drive from his St. Paul home, and Cornell said he will be stopping by the campus in the coming weeks to hang out with their coaching staff.
