Rivals100 defensive end Jashon Cornell has been off the college visit trail for the last several weeks, but he returns this weekend with planned stops at two Midwest programs.

"Saturday I am going to the NIKE Cam,p and I think that morning I would like to stop by Northwestern and I think I might stop by Notre Dame," Cornell said.
At Notre Dame he is planning on staying with his friend and former teammate at St. Paul (Minn.) Cretin Derham Hall, James Onwualu.
"I talk to him every day," Cornell said of Onwualu. "He said going to Notre Dame, he wouldn't want to go to any other college. When you get there, it is like a job. You have to work every single day to perfect your game, but it lives up to the hype of the Notre Dame lifestyle and he really likes it."
Notre Dame was one of the first schools to extend an offer to Cornell, and he has been building a relationship with their staff over the last year.
"I have a really good relationship with Coach [Brian] Kelly," Cornell said. "What he says he has to offer me is a Notre Dame education, and that's a big thing in my family. I want to graduate with a college degree, and a Notre Dame education would help me fulfill my dream of getting to the NFL or getting a great job."
This weekend would be the fourth visit to Northwestern for Cornell, and he has a good relationship with their head coach also.
"I have been directly talking to Coach [Pat] Fitzgerald," Cornell said. "It's a really good relationship getting to talk to the head coach a lot.
The prior visits to Evanston have intrigued Cornell, but his interest has been furthered by what is going on at the school recently.
"I was looking at them for awhile, but it's opened my eyes up because of all the new stuff they have been putting in that program," he said. "With the new football facilities they are building they are getting a private beachfront at the school. All of their facilities are getting upgraded right now. Just knowing that they are working on that union thing, that sounds like a cool thing."
Following this weekend's trips, Cornell is working on scheduling a visit to Ohio State in early June and a late spring or early summer trip to California to check out Pac-12 schools Stanford, California, UCLA and USC.
