Corley contemplates decision timeframe

Rivals100 wide receiver Donnie Corley has been aiming for a July decision, and now the question is whether that comes at the beginning or end of the month?
"It depends on how I am feeling," Corley said. "I might make a decision at The Opening, but if not I am still going to try to get out to Ohio State and Tennessee again."

Tennessee is also the school Corley visited most recently, traveling to Knoxville on June 20 for their Orange Carpet Day.
"Everything they did was great, I would just like to get with the academic advisors and talk about some stuff," Corley said. "Then, I would really like to get my parents down there before I make this decision."
Shortly before the Tennessee visit, Corley made another trip to East Lansing for a camp at Michigan State.
"I went as receiver and DB, so I got a chance to work with Coach (Harlon) Barnett and Coach (Terry) Samuel," Corley said. "They go through everything so you get a feel of would you want to do this and do you like the stuff they do everyday."
Michigan State and Tennessee were the two schools Corley identified back in April that he knew would be in the conversation until the end, but they are not the only two schools he is still considering.
"There are still other teams in there," Corley said. "I still like Notre Dame, I still like Ohio State and I still like West Virginia."
Corley last visited West Virginia a month ago with teammate Martell Pettaway, who committed to the Mountaineers last week.
"(Pettaway) just said he loves it and the coaches are amazing. He feels like we could do big things together," Corley said. "(West Virginia) actually surprised me; I didn't think it was going to be like that. It was a great place and I liked the surroundings. The coaches are really straightforward guys, so I like that."
It has been a couple months since Corley last visited either Notre Dame or Ohio State, but he has been in regular contact with both programs.
"I am still in contact with both of those schools and talk with them every other day probably. I'll talk with Coach (Zach) Smith or Coach (Kerry) Coombs (at Ohio State) and Coach (Keith) Gilmore or Coach (Mike) Denbrock (at Notre Dame) a lot."
There have been several points over the last six months where it looked like Corley may end his recruitment, but he has worked the process so that he can make his commitment without any reservations.
"It's been a long journey with all these visits and stuff," Corley said. "If it is possible and I don't make my decision at The Opening, I want to take my parents on a last, little round trip to Tennessee and Ohio State. And I want to get my parents down to Michigan State maybe one more time and talk things over with them. But, I really want to get it over with."
The 6-foot-2, 187-pound Corley is ranked as the No. 79 player in the Rivals100 for 2016. He caught 47 passes for 1,087 yards and 18 touchdowns while adding nine interceptions as a defensive back for Detroit (Mich.) King as a junior.
