Corker open and ready to make visits

Shawn Corker is a wide receiver prospect from Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons High School. He had a big junior season, catching 33 passes for 912 yards and 14 touchdowns. Corker is used to making plays and he likes one school that loves to put the ball in the air.
"Texas Tech was my best visit so far," Corker said. "I loved it. It was very nice and they have a lot to offer. The facilities are great and I can see myself there for four years. Coach (Mike) Leach and his staff were great. I sat in on meetings and they made me feel like part of the team."

The Red Raiders are a team that has put up huge numbers in the passing game under Leach. It's something that has caught Corker's eye.
"Those wide receivers get to make plays. That means so much to me. I want the ball in my hands to make plays. That offense does that and it will give you opportunities. What I saw in practice was unreal and it seemed their were balls flying everywhere. I bet every wide receiver in practice caught 30 passes."
Corker has a handful of offers and plans to see many of these schools.
"I want to see Boston College, Wake Forest, Oregon, and Ole Miss this summer. I have already seen UCF and FIU. Right now I am open and just taking this all in."
Last week Corker received scholarship offers from Kansas and South Carolina. Those were his most recent offers.
"I don't know much about them but I do know they are two good schools. I will look into both of them."
Corker was injured earlier today during spring practice. He hurt his hamstring and his coaches are going to hold him out for the rest of the week.
