Cooper has potential suitors

Former Syracuse wide receiver Corey Cooper has found a new home, and appears ready to once again kick off the recruiting process.
Cooper, a former three-star prospect who signed with the Orange in 2013 but left Syracuse this past August before ever playing a snap, recently transferred to Highland (Kan.) Community College.

The 6-foot, 190-pound athlete said he is set to graduate a year from now, which gives the former Semper Fidelis All-American an entire year to find a new landing spot.
"I have some schools that are interested," Cooper said. "Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Clemson, Utah, Temple, North Texas, Duke and Washington. They're supposed to watch me in spring."
Having already experienced the process, Cooper hopes that is a big help this time around.
"I think it will help a lot because I been through it all in high school," Cooper said. "My dad went through it too, and my brother is going through it now. My brother, Colby Cooper, plays at Rolesville in North Carolina and, right now, North Carolina, Wake Forest and Duke are recruiting him."
When Cooper left Syracuse, it was because he wanted to be closer to home in Raleigh, N.C., but now he's not limiting his options.
"I'm open to anything right now," he said. "I'm going home this month to train. Then I'll head back to Highland in January, and that's when the recruiting stuff will take place again."
As a senior at Millbrook in 2012, Cooper caught 41 passes for 461 yards and six touchdowns.
