Cook set for SEC visit

Four-star Brenham (Texas) Blinn C.C. defensive end prospect Alex Cook is certainly not having a problem racking up scholarship offers.
The junior college defender currently holds offers from Louisville, Arkansas, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Southern Mississippi, Hawaii, and UTEP. Florida, Purdue, and Tennessee are also showing interest in the 6-foot-3, 225-pound weakside defensive end.

"Louisville is my favorite," Cook said. "I like their defense. I still can't believe they lost (to Rutgers). I don't understand that. I thought it was going to be a blow out. I still think they've got a great defense.
"I also like Florida quite a bit. They put a lot of people in the league and that's where I'm trying to get."
Cook says he's a combination between a "pass-rushing" defensive end and a "run-stopping" player.
"You can call me an athlete," Cook said. "How about defensive end slash athlete?"
This weekend, the talented Cook is planning on heading up to Arkansas for an official visit.
"I think that's the only one I have set right now," Cook said about his visit to see Arkansas. "After seeing Darren McFadden playing quarterback, that makes me want to check out that place. I didn't know they could do that with their offense."
So far on the year, Cook is leading the team in tackles and tackles for loss. Last year, he led the team in sacks, but is currently tied for the lead with nine sacks so far.
Cook is originally from St. Petersburg, Florida.
