Cook set for decision

Tyler Cook will make his college decision in about one month but the Murrieta (Calif.) Vista Murrieta linebacker said it's still too early to name frontrunners.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound three-star prospect plans to announce his decision on Aug. 8, his parents' wedding anniversary, and many schools remain in contention because he still needs to visit some East Coast institutions before figuring anything out.
"I haven't narrowed it down yet," Cook said. "I'm going to be taking my visits."

Cook lists offers from Arizona, Boise State, BYU, Colorado, Colorado State, Duke, Fresno State, Hawaii, Kansas State, Miami, Nevada, San Jose State, Utah State, Vanderbilt, Washington State and Yale.
The three-star from powerhouse Vista Murrieta recently camped at UCLA and is looking at a wide-range of trips in the coming month before decision time.
"That's why I came to UCLA and I was supposed to go to Utah," Cook said. "I know I have Miami coming up, I'm going to try to take all my visits on the East Coast. Once I make my East Coast trip I'm trying to hit all of them - Duke, Vanderbilt, Yale. I want to make it to all of them.
"It's definitely going to be a tough decision. Once I'm able to visit all the colleges and I'm able to see what clicks and what doesn't, I'll be able to make my decision."
Cook has a firm date for his commitment so there's no need to rush.
He wants to see a lot of programs in the coming weeks and that could get hectic but the three-star linebackers said it's special and he wants to do things the right way.
"It's going to be an experience I'll only have once in a lifetime," Cook said. "It's an experience I'm really proud of."
