Cook receiving more attention

Dallas Samuell athlete DaWaylon Cook holds two scholarship offers and both of those along with several other schools like his abilities at the quarterback position.
Utah and West Virginia are the first two schools to have offered the 6-foot-2, 180-pounder. However, recent interest from North Texas and TCU has been coming in. Cook says that he'll be trying to check out the in-state schools this month.

"I've just been talking a lot with the West Virginia, TCU, and North Texas coaches," Cook said. "Basically we're just building the relationship. (TCU and North Texas) haven't offered yet, but I'm supposed to be going to the North Texas camp on the 21st and then the coaches say they'll probably be offering.
"I'm supposed to be going to an unofficial visit to TCU sometime soon."
Cook says that right now, two teams lead the others.
"I would say, it would probably be TCU and West Virginia," Cook said. "TCU is there because I've always looked at their program and liked it. It's close to home too. I like West Virginia because they're a good team and I like the way they play."
A West Virginia is also in the works but will most likely be an official visit during the fall. He says he'd like to have a decision sometime in the middle of the season.
While most of the schools are recruiting him at quarterback, Cook says some others like his abilities at other spots.
"I think the only schools recruiting me at another spot are Tulsa or Kansas State," he said. "They want me to play safety or receiver. Everybody else wants me at quarterback."
