Cook has out-of-state leader

Without his first scholarship offer, Dallas Samuell do-it-all athlete DaWaylon Cook has a leader.
The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder, who shares time at both quarterback and safety for his high school, has been receiving mail from Oklahoma State, Louisville, Baylor, and others. With new interest starting this week, it's an out-of-state school that has emerged as the favorite for Cook.

"Out of those schools, I'd say it's Louisville," Cook said. "I like the way they run their offense, but I also like their defense. They just play fast and I like that."
Cook says he's being recruited as an athlete. Though he could play receiver, he says he most likely fits in better as a safety.
"I know what I'm doing as far as being on the defensive side of the field," Cook said. "I'm hoping for defense. If I could play offense, I'd be at receiver."
Cook also has to think about two sports with basketball and football.
"It depends how the offers work," Cook said. "Right now, I prefer football."
So what's next for Cook? Another unofficial visit looks near to an in-state school.
"I'm trying to set up a visit to go down to Baylor," he said. "I think I'll go to some other junior day visits as well."
