Cook close to first offer

Things have taken off for Dallas Samuell athlete DaWaylon Cook.
A versatile athlete, Cook lines up as a quarterback for his high school team and it appears his first offer will come at that position. The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder received word from an out-of-state school this past week about his first verbal offer.

"Actually, West Virginia just made me an offer over the phone this last week," Cook said. "I think it was Tuesday. I talked to the wide receivers coach, coach (Tony) Dews. He was just telling me that they were offering and are recruiting me as a quarterback."
Cook says he hasn't received any other offers, but has been getting more interest from schools like Wisconsin, Colorado, and Florida. Louisville is a school that has also shown him interest.
Two leaders have emerged.
"Right now, my top two schools would probably be Louisville and West Virginia," Cook said. "I like West Virginia because what they do on offense and that's what I like to do with the option and running as a quarterback. Louisville, they've been recruiting me for a while. I just like how they've been recruiting me."
Upcoming visits are being planned right now for Cook. He says that he's looking to make a visit to both Louisville and West Virginia this summer.
