Conner Davis makes a decision

Glen Allen (Va.) Deep Run offensive tackle Conner Davis made his selection earlier this afternoon. The 6-foot-5, 280-pounder decided between two in-state rivals in Virginia and Virginia Tech.
"I committed this afternoon around two to Virginia," he said. "I called Coach Price and he was in the building with Coach Groh. He handed the phone over to him and they were both real excited. They just got another commit 20 minutes earlier.

"After I told them I was committing, they just talked about how it was a good choice and that playing at Virginia was a good thing. They also mentioned how I fit in well there and that the degree from Virginia will take me far."
Davis discussed further why he selected the Cavaliers.
"I've been going there since I was a little kid," he said. "I'm very familiar with the school, football program and people up there. They have great academics and I can see myself there. I'm happy and it was close to home. They have the most gorgeous campus I've been on.
"I also like the coaches. They have one of the best offensive line coaches in the country and he's had two first round draft picks. He definitely knows his stuff. That wasn't necessarily a major factor, but it is motivation that they can do it with those guys, why not me."
The battle for Davis appeared to be tight race between the Cavaliers and Hokies.
"It was very close."
Davis' position is a bit up in the air still with Virginia.
"Coach Borbely said that he'll know my position after two days of practice once he sees how I move," he said. "I'm looking to play any position on the line."
The No. 45 offensive tackle in the country is happy to have the decision behind him.
"I'm just really excited. I've been a fan there for a real long time and to be able to go to school where I've grown up watching, it's a blessing and a dream come true. I'm ready to call Virginia home."
