Connecticut LB adds two huge offers

Greenwich, Conn. linebacker Jonathan Meyers has over 20 scholarship offers. Recently the 6-foot-1, 215-pounder added two more scholarships from major programs in the Big East and Pac-10.
"My most recent offers are UCLA and Michigan," he said. "I think both of them are great schools.
"Michigan is the most winning team in college history, great academics and is a high caliber program which is what I look for in school. UCLA is a great school on the West Coast and very competitive in the Pac-10. I know their linebacker coach worked with Brian Urlacher, so he knows what he's talking about. Both of these are great options and it's real exciting for me."
Meyers made it no secret he was favoring Florida early on in the process. Do either of the latest scholarships change anything?
"I think Michigan is definitely one of my tops along with UCLA and Florida," he said. "Initially it was Florida, but now that I'm getting a few more big schools coming in I'm keeping my options open and am going to wait until May is over.
"That's when I plan to narrow my list of 20 to 30 schools to five, and then I'll go on some visits this summer."
How soon is Meyers planning to cut his list?
"It'll be very soon, but I don't get out of school until the middle of June so there isn't too much of a rush," he stated. "Definitely I will by the end of June and focus on around five and then I'll definitely make it out to places that I'm interested in. I don't want to bounce around to 20 camps.
"As for a decision, I don't know if I'll do it before school starts. I'm only going to make it when I'm comfortable; I'm not going to rush it."
While teams are working towards getting into his top five, it appears two schools have already made the cut.
"I think Michigan and Florida will be the two guaranteed in my list," he said. "Both of them are championship programs and national contenders. They are high caliber universities as well and show dominance you don't see in other places. They also are great academic schools and the coaches are great people.
"I've been to Florida and met coach Meyer. I'm looking forward to getting to Michigan and meeting coach Carr and Szabo. I'm getting a good vibe from them."
