Connecticut FB already getting looks

One of the top players in the state of Connecticut in the Class of 2005 is Hartford (Conn.) Weaver fullback Asaph Schwapp. The 6-foot, 239-pound fullback racked up some impressive stats as a junior and is already getting some impressive attention.
On the way to earning repeat all-conference honors on both sides of the ball, Schwapp racked up 1,313 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns on offense. On defense, he had 29 solo tackles, 45 assists, 20 tackles for a loss and eight sacks.

“I’m aggressive and very explosive,” Schwapp, who has a 4.64-second 40-yard dash and a 365-pound bench-press, said. “I have an explosive first step. I’m also a crushing blocker. I really think I’m the best fullback in the state.”
But along with his blocking ability is a pair of soft hands. He had 10 receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown. In other words, Schwapp might be one of the more complete fullbacks in the East for next year.
With that package, he’s already gaining attention from Indiana, UConn, Virginia, Boston College, Michigan State and Syracuse. He has no leader and at this point he’s yet to earn an official scholarship offer.
Schwapp plans on camping this summer at Boston College and UConn.
