Committed 2-star waiting for UK offer

Louisville (Ky.) DuPont Manual two-star safety Juwan Gardner is very happily committed to Western Kentucky but if he continues to get interest from the big school in Lexington, it might change his line of thinking.
"Kentucky is right down the street so if they give me and offer it's going to be a place I visit and consider," Gardner said.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Gardner committed to the Hilltoppers back in June, over schools like Ball State and Miami (OH). He said Kentucky has shown increased interest, along with a few other schools.
But will WKU's recent victory over the Wildcats factor into his decision if Kentucky does indeed come calling?
"I was excited to see that win," Gardner said. "I kind of knew in the back of my mind it was going to happen but Kentucky is still an SEC team. WKU made big plays when it mattered the most."
Gardner was in Bowling Green for the Hilltoppers win over Southern Miss on Saturday, but said he's not sure when he will take the rest of his visits.
"A lot of schools want me to come to the games but it's hard to focus on their games and mine as well," Gardner said. "I know when my season is over I'll have more time to take visits."
Despite being committed to the Hilltoppers, he plans on taking all five of his visits.
"I haven't made my mind up, on which schools I'm going to go to yet," Gardner said. "You can only take five and I have six offers and I'm also trying to hold out and see who else gives me an offer."
In the meantime, his focus is on leading a DuPont team that's full of underclassmen and dealing with offenses who are working to keep the ball away from him.
"It's kind of hard to make the plays I made last year considering everyone is throwing away from me," Gardner said. "I'm having to play more aggressively and my coach is moving me around to use my athletic ability."
The versatile Gardner is now seeing time on offense, and is playing more linebacker and has even see a few snaps at defensive end.
"I like being up in the box," Gardner said. "I just like being up in the action."
