Commitment breakdown: Rivals250 DE Kellen Lindstrom picks Tennessee

The Tennessee defensive line received a major boost today with commitment of four-star defensive end Kellen Lindstrom. The Springfield (Mo.) Glendale pass rusher held 30 offers from the likes of Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Missouri, LSU, Oklahoma and others before deciding Tennessee was ultimately the place for him

Lindstrom never officially released a list of top schools, but many speculated his decision would come down to Oklahoma and Tennessee as they were the final two programs to receive visits prior to today's commitment.

WHAT TENNESSEE IS GETTING...

Size, athleticism, versatility and a motor that runs hot are just a few of the traits Lindstrom brings to the table, and as good as he is at this raw stage of his career, his upside is what made him one of the most coveted defensive end prospects in the 2024 class.

At 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds, Lindstrom has the twitch, length and speed to become a lethal pass rusher at Tennessee and he is the type of player capable of giving SEC quarterbacks fits in the coming years. Additionally, his plus frame is capable of adding plenty of mass once established in a college weight program, and that combined with a special skill-set could give him the versatility to play multiple positions for the Vols. While Lindstrom has incredible physical and athletic gifts, it is his ability to maximize those gifts that will give him every opportunity to become an impact player in the SEC and beyond.
