Four-star Tyler Gibson won't have to go far for his college career. The Johns Creek, Ga. offensive linemen announced his commitment to Georgia Tech after taking his official visit to the nearby campus earlier this month. Gibson had been considering schools like Indiana, Virginia, Mississippi State, and Florida State.

WHAT THE YELLOWJACKETS ARE GETTING...

Gibson is a stout interior offensive lineman that plays with an aggressive streak and has very strong hands. There's also room for him to fill out his frame in the upper and lower halves so he's should be able to handle the stronger defensive linemen at the next level. If Gibson develops the right way we could see him turning to a multi-year starter. As a pass blocker, Gibson does a good job playing with leverage and resetting his hands as he stays in front of the defensive lineman. He's already pretty technically sound but he will become a more well-rounded blocker once he gets stronger.

WHY IT'S BIG FOR GEORGIA TECH...

This is a big win for Georgia Tech because Gibson grew up a Florida State fan. The Noles are continuing to keep tabs on him but Georgia Tech has done enough at this point to make him feel comfortable enough with their plan for him and with the program itself to verbally commit. Coach Collins and his staff will need to continue to recruit him all the way through National Signing Day because teams like Mississippi State, Indiana, and Virginia will also be trying to lure Gibson away.
