When championship banners fly around in Jordan-Hare Stadium, the foundation for those winning moments are laid on the recruiting trail picking up players like Rivals100 receiver Camden Brown. The win in signing Brown should count double for head coach Bryan Harsin and staff doing so without a named offensive coordinator.

WHAT THE TIGERS ARE GETTING

Listed at 6-foot, 3-inches, 195 pounds, Brown is that big target giving quarterbacks extra security downfield. The stats are not gaudy, but some context is needed on Brown’s senior season. Accounting for nearly a quarter of St. Thomas Aquinas’ receiving yards, Brown led the team in receiving yards (483) and receiving touchdowns (7) off 24 receptions. The upside with Brown is tremendous believing he has yet to scratch the surface of what he can do on the field.

WHAT MAKES CAMDEN BROWN DIFFERENT

When the ball is in the air, Brown plays with the confidence that the pigskin is his. In a one-on-one matchup, Brown routinely gets clean releases beating his man downfield for the big play. Because of his size and Georgia’s ability to run the ball, Brown can be an impact player on the field blocking downfield for his running backs.

WHY THIS IS BIG FOR AUBURN

The SEC is an arms’ race for recruiting talent. In tight games, one athletic play can be the difference between being conference champs with a College Football Playoff berth or heading to a New Year’s Day bowl game. Brown is another developing playmaker that can help Georgia in their quest for SEC domination.

Through the recruiting lens, Georgia getting into the mix throwing down an offer on Dec. 3 left many to speculate the Bulldogs were adding yet another four-star prospect to their 2022 class. In addition to Georgia, Florida State was actively involved and so was Pitt hoping to keep the one-time verbal commit.
