WHAT THE TIGERS ARE GETTING...
Hanafin is a reliable receiver with great upside. He clocked sub-4.5 40-yard speed last offseason and it shows on the field. Hanafin can line up on the outside or in the slot and knows how to use his size and short area quickness to get open against whatever defensive back lines up across from him. He's also proven to be difficult to bring down in the open field. Look for Hanafin to turn into a favorite target for his quarterback down the road. He also has potential to play on the defensive side of the ball. Hanafin was heavily pursued to play safety or outside linebacker by many other schools.
WHY IT'S BIG FOR CLEMSON...
Hanafin is the second receiver for Clemson in this recruiting class, joining Rivals250 prospect Noble Johnson. Dabo Swinney and his staff did a great job reeling in Hanafin, who was considered a heavy Notre Dame lean earlier in the recruiting process. It's likely that Clemson has now filled their need for receivers in the 2023 class and they will move their focus to other positions. If he ends up signing with Clemson, he'll be the only players out of Massachusetts to sign with the Tigers in the history of Rivals.
