SMU head coach Rhett Lashlee pulled from his time as offensive coordinator at Miami landing three-star receiver Adam Moore on Wednesday. Lashlee went back to Miami to find the combo receiver/tight end. Moore made the trek to Dallas the weekend ahead of National Signing Day to find his next level fit.

WHAT SMU IS GETTING

The Mustangs have added an offensive weapon to their 2023 class. Moore projects as a tight end but also lined up on the outside for Miami Northwestern. Once the ball is in his hands, Moore has the speed to push the rock downfield moving the chains with him.

WHY THIS IS BIG FOR SMU

With coach Lashlee’s offensive mind and Moore’s versatility, trouble is coming for AAC squads. Moore is an every down player able to help with run blocking. The three-star is a great pickup for the Mustangs. Because of his experience with Northwestern, Moore can flex out, line up as an inside receiver, and should feel comfortable as an H-back. As he adds more mass to his frame, he should become a bigger asset on the line as a run blocker.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

Taking the field against 2M Florida defenses during the 2022 season, Moore led his team with 25 receptions covering 355 yards with seven trips into the end zone.
