Commissiong on the verge of more offers

Defensive tackle Darius Commissiong still holds two scholarships. Plenty of other schools are in pursuit of the 6-foot-4; 275-pound junior who believes a couple more offers could be coming in the near future.
"I've seen a lot of interest from big-time schools," he said. "Before it was Rutgers, Maryland, Syracuse and Boston College. Now, I'm getting interest from Oregon, Alabama and Auburn. I wasn't really surprised, but it feels good."

Commissiong holds offers from East Carolina and Syracuse, but noted that he believes Tennessee and Rutgers are close.
"I've gotten a lot of invites to come to games by their coaches and they are in contact with me regularly. I talk to both Rutgers and Tennessee's coaches regularly, Rutgers wants me to come up for bowl preparation."
Commissiong hasn't visited schools this season, but noted a plan to head to Tennessee and also is headed to the Notre Dame-Maryland game at FedEx Field on Saturday.
It sounds like Tennessee is the leader, is that right?
"I'm pretty open, but I'm interested in Tennessee," he said. "For one, it's an SEC school and it's not too small. I like the vibe I've been getting from the coaches."
Commissiong and Bishop McNamara closed the season recently and the lineman finished with nine sacks on the year.
"I played pretty well, I think I got better throughout the season with my technique and using my hands," he said. "I still want to get in better shape for next year since I'm playing both ways more."
The Maryland tackle recently was nominated to the U.S. Army All-American Combine in January and mentioned plans to participate.
