Colton standout returns from visit

When your team is headlined by five-star linebacker Allen Bradford (6-0, 225, 4.58) and four-star defensive back Shareece Wright (5-11, 180, 4.53) it can be hard to make a name for yourself but that's exactly what cornerback/wide receiver Jimmy Smith (6-1, 175, 4.5) from Colton, Calif., is doing.
Smith has two offers on the table from Nevada and Nebraska.

"Nebraska is my newest offer," Smith said. "They offered me after the Crenshaw game."
"Right now I'm in Reno taking an official visit to Nevada," Smith said. "It's really nice here."
"Right now, Nevada is rebuilding their school," Smith said. "It's a good city with nice people and I get along with everybody."
Besides Nevada and Nebraska, Smith is getting serious recruiting attention from Utah, Boise State, Fresno State, Washington State and Oregon State.
"I have a visit scheduled to Boise State on December 9th," Smith said. "After that I will visit Nebraska sometime in January."
Smith is playing standout football on both sides of the ball and special teams for 8-1 Colton.
As a wide receiver, Smith has 36 receptions for 850 yards and 13 touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, Smith has racked up 39 tackles and one interception. He has 177 punt return yards for an average of 12.6 per return.
Nevada is recruiting Smith as a corner. Nebraska likes him as a wide receiver, as does Utah. Boise State is recruiting him as a safety while Fresno State is recruiting as either a defensive back or wide receiver.
Smith and his Colton teammates will take on 8-0-1 Redlands (Calif.) East Valley for the Citrus Belt League Championship this Friday Night at Redlands University.
