Colston-Green tries to impress Rebs

OXFORD, Miss., -- After camping recently at places such as Florida, Miami and South Florida, the 2011 road tour of Jaren Colston-Green, a senior receiver from Tallahassee (Fla.) Leon, continued over the weekend with a stop at Ole Miss.
He is hopeful Saturday's effort will boost his stock.

"After the camp, I think I'm going to get a lot of interest," Colston-Green said. "I talked to Coach [Chris] Vaughn. We had a good visit [Friday]. I think this is really going to do good for me."
The 6-feet-2, 170-pounder claims verbal offers from Florida A&M and Middle Tennessee. Arkansas State and South Carolina are among the other schools also showing interest.
As a junior, Colsten-Green had 20 receptions for 324 yards and three touchdowns. Additionally, he contributed on special teams returning kicks and punts.
In high school, Colsten-Green hasn't played on defense.
On Saturday, he did just that.
"I think I did great even though I had to do both sides," Colston-Green said. "I had never played DB before in a camp. This is my first year playing it. I did wide receiver and defensive back. Actually, I think I was better at defensive back. On defense, I did good with my hands, jamming the defender. On offense, I did good running my routes and catching the ball with my hands. [Ole Miss] is looking at me both ways. They told me to give them a call [this] week."
