“I have scholarship offers from Air Force and Colorado State,” the 6-foot-4, 245-pound Zimmerer said. “I am also getting quite a bit of information from Oregon, Colorado, Brigham Young and Idaho.”
Zimmerer plans on attending as many as three football camps this summer.
”I am hoping to get to camps at Colorado State, Colorado and Oregon,” he said. “If it works out then I should be able to get to them all.”
Several schools are scheduled to come by the school to visit with Zimmerer and his coach this week.
“I am expecting Oregon and Colorado to be coming on Tuesday,” he said. “Colorado State, Air Force and Idaho are all coming Wednesday. It should be a busy week. I am looking for a good program and a school that offers good academics.”
Zimmerer plays on both sides of the ball in high school and hopes to stay on offense in college.
“I would like to play tight end in college,” he said. “But, I’m not opposed to playing defense. Whatever it looks like is the best for the team.”
As a junior, Zimmerer hauled in nine passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns. On defense he recorded 35 tackles and six quarterback sacks.
