Colorado State moves up for Michel

Visiting Colorado State this weekend was a new experience for Steven Michel because the Orlando (Fla.) Jones outside linebacker had never flown and he had never left the state of Florida.
Everything went well on the visit and though the 6-foot-1, 200-pound prospect did not commit during his trip, the Rams are looking good in his recruitment. Colorado State has to be considered the leader for his services.

"It's beautiful up here," Michel said. "I've never experienced something like this before. It was a new experience, first time flying, first time out of Florida really so everything is good.
"The people are nice, the coaches are good. My hosts have been treating me good. The coaching staff really likes me and wants me here so everything is going in a good direction."
Michel said before he makes any pledge that he wants to go home and discuss the visit with his family.
That would be the only holdup in his recruitment, that Colorado State is not close to home, but Michel said it's something he'd probably be able to overcome. He enjoyed his visit so much that distance might not play that big of a factor.
At this point in his recruitment, Michel, who has also been hearing from Florida Atlantic and Jacksonville, predicts he'll probably end up playing for the Rams.
"The only thing that's really the problem is I'm going to miss my support system," Michel said. "My mom always comes to my games, my family, but other than that it's all right. I don't have any problem with it. I think I probably need a change anyway.
"I think most likely I'll be a Ram. I think so."
