Colorado DB looking forward to another try

Aurora (Colo.) Overland safety Aramis Peoples doesn’t intend to repeat last year’s disappointment in the state semi-finals.
Last year, Peoples' Overland squad fell to eventual state champs, Chatfield, after leading 37-14 at half time.

“We were stopped short last year," Peoples said. "My goal this year is to go all the way.”
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound safety and running back posted stats for his Junior season that were far from disappointing. Aramis ran for 1,474 yards on 110 carries. Those numbers included a high game of 265 yards rushing. On defense, he recorded 48 solo tackles and three interceptions. His performances garnered him first-team all-conference honors as a running back, second-team all-conference and honorable mention all-state as a free safety.
Although he put up good numbers on offense, Peoples is being recruited to play safety at the college level.
“I have the right mentality to play safety," Peoples said. "I like to bring a load when I hit people.”
Schools contacting Peoples include Colorado, Colorado State, Utah, Wyoming and Kansas State. Early interest from Missouri seems to have waned.
Who is the leader among these schools?
“Living in Colorado, I’ve always like CU," Peoples said. "That’s where I’d like to go if I can.”
Peoples is still waiting on his first offer but the schools contacting him are showing enough interest that he shouldn’t have to wait long.
"Several schools have indicated they like my skills a lot. Hopefully they'll come through with the offers like they've indicated."
