Colorado commit enjoys visit to Arizona

Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde defensive lineman Deandre Reed was an early commitment to Colorado. Following the dismissal of Buff head coach Gary Barnett, Reed decided to take an official visit this past weekend to Arizona and said thing are up in the air regarding where his recruitment is at now.
Reed, 6-4, 210 pounds was flying under the radar back in the summer but was offered by Colorado after he camped with the Buffs in the summer. Reed went ahead and committed on his visit in October but decided to open things up in recent weeks.

"I liked the visit to Arizona a lot," Reed said. "It has really made things confusing for me now. "Donald Horton was my host and he was real cool. Everyone on the trip was to be honest, I got along with all the players, the recruits and the coaches on the staff.
"I got in on Friday and after we checked in at the hotel, we went out for dinner with the rest of the recruits. I went out with the players that night and Donald showed me around Tucson. It's a nice city, I like it there and it's a cool college town.
"Saturday was the day we did all the academic stuff and checked out the stadium and the facilities. The best part for me was going to the basketball game. I'm a big hoops fan and that was fun being there in that environment with all that red everywhere. The campus is cool too and I liked the facilities as well. They're on par with anything I've seen and I've been to Colorado, UNLV and Fresno State already.
"On Sunday, I sat down with the coaching staff to talk about how the visit went, what my role would be and Coach Stoops wanted to know what I was thinking as well. They said they want to red-shirt me so they can put some weight on me and that's fine. I'm only about 210 pounds right now and know I need to get bigger and stronger to play at that level. It's a good situation for me though because they don't have a lot of depth at defensive end right now so I would be able to compete for playing time my red-shirt year.
"Coach Stoops asked me what I thought of Arizona and where I was at with my decision. I told him I liked it a lot at Arizona but I'm pretty confused right now and not sure what to think. I would say those two schools are basically dead even. Since coach Barnett was fired, I haven't heard from anyone at Colorado but I do want to wait and see who the new head coach is. Coach Canales (UA OC) is coming over for a home visit later this week, I think on Friday and hopefully by then, I'll have a better idea of what is going on with Colorado.
"I don't have any trips scheduled for this weekend but if I'm still not sure what to do, I may take visits to UNLV and Fresno State in January. I visited both unofficially already but both schools want me to come and take an official visit so we'll see what happens."
