COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Word came out at the NIKE Training Camp that the second Brenham, Texas star, Shawn Sullivan, had pulled the trigger on his commitment by making his decision for TCU. Word started circling that his teammate, athlete Brandon Collins, could be close.
The 6-foot, 170-pounder worked out with the wide receivers at the camp and definitely has a bright future on both sides of the ball. Collins says that following his teammate is a possibility.
"TCU is my favorite right now," Collins said. "They're a good school, not too many people there, and it's in a great area. I just like everything about it. I've also got other offers though from Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, New Mexico and some others."
Collins says that Tuesday he could have a decision made which has many people thinking TCU will be the pick. However, he's also got a trip to Texas Tech planned far after that.
"I am planning on going down to Texas Tech on May 6," Collins said. "I guess we'll see what happens."
Attending the NIKE Camp gave Collins a chance to not only see how he stacks up with the top players, but also get a good look at what he needs to work on before college.
"I'm trying to just run better routes," he said. "You go to big events like this and try to bring what you've learned but also pick up new techniques."
