Collier sets decision date

Four-star athlete Averin Collier out of Churchville (N.Y.) Churchville-Chili took his final official visit over the weekend. The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder went to Syracuse and plans to announce a decision this week.
"The visit was good, I had a good time," he said. "I was hosted by Bruce Williams. I toured the city with him and I also hung out with Marcus Sales. We also went to a basketball game and checked out campus and the academics.

"I got there Friday. The first day I went out to dinner and just chilled with Bruce. He talked to me about how things are going to change, the coaches believe in it. It's going to happen sooner or later. They do have five guys that made all-Big East, so they are doing something. They are just taking it one step at a time. There is also the possibility to go in and play running back right away."
On Saturday, Collier toured the facilities and met with the coaches, including Greg Robinson.
"Coach Robinson and I talked for awhile," he said. "The visit really helped me to build my friendship even more with my recruiter, Coach Spencer. I've known him since he was recruiting Kevin.
"As for Coach Robinson, that was good. It was a great conversation and my mom got a feel for him better too."
With the third and final visit done, Collier plans to announce a decision on Friday.
"Pittsburgh and Syracuse are the schools I have left," he said. "I've built a great relationship with both and it's going to be a hard decision, but a decision I have to make."
Wherever the No. 25 athlete in the country chooses, he'll be heading there next month for the spring semester.
