Following a solid season in which he posted 89 tackles and 11 sacks on his way to first team all-conference honors. Colleges are taking a closer look at McKeesport, Pa. defensive tackle Dana Brown.
"I'm getting a lot of letters from Syracuse, Buffalo, Wisconsin, Akron, Pittsburgh, Maryland and even a little bit from Southern Cal," he said. "I grew up a big fan of Michigan and West Virginia.
"I think Michigan has kind of fallen out of touch, but to a certain extent I'm still a big fan of West Virginia. That could affect me a lot if they show interest. It's the tradition there. They have fun doing it and they are a big-time program."
Brown mentioned the possibility of heading to Morgantown this weekend for the spring game.
In general, what is he looking for in a college?
"I just am looking for that feeling, a feeling of being at home and comfortable," he stated. "I want to study business management, education or psychology and location doesn't matter. I've been all over the country."
The 6-foot-1, 255-pounder helped McKeesport to the state semifinals and a 10-2 season last year.
"I did well," he said. "I saw the field a lot better and my leadership and dedication were good.
"I just want to get faster, stronger and work my feet better."
