Colleges eye OG Pettis

Recruiting is heating up at Shelby (N.C.) Crest not just for Rhaheim Ledbetter and Jonathan Bullard, but also offensive guard Tommy Pettis. A handful of colleges are taking a look at the 6-foot-4, 285-pounder.
"I haven't gotten any offers yet, but Clemson and Tennessee are looking at me," he said. "I plan on going to camp sometime this summer there.

"I'm also getting a lot of interest from Wake Forest, NC State and Duke."
Pettis is high on Clemson.
"I think it was my 10th grade year I went to Clemson's camp and I liked it, it's pretty nice. I like the school and coaches, they are very cool."
On the field, Pettis had a solid junior season helping his team to state. He broke down his skills more.
"I think I'm very easy to coach and I listen very well, I try hard too," he said. "I still want to work on my speed and my footwork. I want to get stronger as well."
