Colleges begin to look at 2008 WR

Highland Springs, Va. 2008 wide receiver Harry Lee Daniel is starting to see an increase in recruiting attention. Who is the 6-foot-0, 183-pounder hearing from at this point and does he have any favorite schools?
"Interest is picking up a bit. I'm getting letters from Maryland, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame and a few others," he said. "Basically I'm looking for a college I can play at as soon as possible. At most, I'd like to redshirt my first year and then get a chance to play. I'm looking for a good academic school with psychology. Finally, I want to go to a big program with a lot of tradition like a Michigan, Virginia Tech or others. I want somewhere that will give me exposure on television and a place that has a big school atmosphere."

Daniel grew up a fan of the Michigan Wolverines.
"I'm a big Michigan fan. I used to watch Tyrone Wheatley, David Terrell and others," he stated. "I know they have had a lot of success at wide receiver with NFL caliber players. I think they could help me too."
Last year Daniel helped the Springers on both sides of the ball. He finished the year with 40 receptions for 548 yards and six touchdowns and added 20 tackles and five interceptions on defense on his way to second team all-district and honorable mention all-metro.
"I was a pretty sloppy route runner last year, but I'm working with C.J. Fleming and Cris Hill to get better and they've helped me a lot," he said. "I can tell this year I'm much more focused and I'm a better blocker overall. The other thing I still have to work on is my speed. I know it's a little high at 4.7-seconds, but I'm trying to get that down."
Daniel and Highland Springs kickoff the year against Patrick Henry on September 9th.
