Colleges begin to eye RB Daniels

The state of North Carolina is loaded with talent in 2008. One of those players to watch is 5-foot-9, 175-pound running back Travis Daniels out of Washington, N.C.
"I'm getting a lot of letters from schools like East Carolina, NC State, Notre Dame, Penn State and Auburn," he said. "Recently I took a visit to East Carolina. That was a good trip. They showed us a lot of the campus and talked about the running back position. I think I could fit in well there."

Although he's not hearing much from them, Daniels is favoring Wake Forest.
"I'd really like to go to Wake," he said. "I like how they run the ball and the style of offense they run. I sent off a highlight tape and haven't heard anything yet."
With a handful of colleges already expressing interest, what does the junior tailback want out of a college?
"Basically I want a school that wants me really bad and shows that," he said. "I also want somewhere I'll eventually play. Location doesn't really matter at all."
This spring Daniels plans to attend the Shrine Bowl combine.
Last season he earned all-conference and division offensive player of the year after rushing for 1,500 yards and 20 touchdowns.
