Collaros commits to Cincinnati

Cincinnati solidified more help under center this week with a commitment from Steubenville, Ohio quarterback Zach Collaros. The 6-foot-1, 193-pounder selected the Bearcats over an offer from Kent State.
"I committed to coach Kelly on Saturday," he said. "He was very happy and told me I should start getting ready to play this fall."

The three-star prospect selected Cincinnati for a variety of reasons.
"The big thing for me was the chance to play in the Big East in big-time football," he said. "I really liked the coaches and the facilities there too. In particular, I liked my quarterback coach. He along with coach Tresey really made me feel comfortable.
"I also liked coach Kelly. He's just a really nice guy and very offensive minded. I'm anxious to learn from him in the future."
Collaros is expected to redshirt next season and then will work from there.
"The coaches told me they plan on redshirting me my freshman year," he said. "Then I'll get some opportunities in the offense. I'm glad to have the whole recruiting process over."
