Clayton (Ohio) Northmont defensive back Kurt Coleman, one of the Top 10 prospects in the Buckeye State, had an impressive list of scholarship offers back in March. At that point Coleman had a little over a half dozen offers including Ohio State, Wisconsin, Purdue, and Boston College.
Since then Coleman's offer list has continued to grow.
"He's got a list of offers I could give you for an hour," coach Lance Schneider said. "I'd say it's around 40.
"Just about the whole Big Ten has offered. Pretty much everybody but Penn State.
"Tennessee, Kansas State, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, the whole MAC of course.
"He'll decide by the end of June. He wants to see some other places, just to make sure OSU is the right place for him.
"Around the second or third week in June he's going to fly out to Kansas State. He's going to go to Iowa. He's going to go see Purdue and Tennessee. And obviously Ohio State. That will be the last one.
The 5-foot-11, 180 pound Coleman was an all-Ohio selection after making 91 tackles and intercepting 10 passes during his junior season. Coleman took two of those 10 interceptions back for scores.
On the other side of the ball Coleman caught 16 passes and scored seven times. Coleman played some cornerback, mostly free safety, and a little wide receiver. Coleman will likely be a corner in college.
