Cole working toward more offers

Oklahoma City (Okla.) Millwood cornerback Michael Cole has an early offer from Tulsa, but the 5-foot-10, 175-pounder feels more offers could be on the way soon.
"Kansas came to my school about a week ago, and they're evaluating me and my film right now against some other corners around the nation," Cole said. "A lot of people are showing interest right now though.

"I'm just starting to get to talk to coach Robert Wimberly from Kansas, and I'm anxious to learn more about them. I actually went to the Kansas spring game with teammate Shevin Patton."
Cole said he had a good time getting to know the Jayhawk coaches and really likes coach Turner Gill.
"He's a real nice man, very intelligent," Cole said. "He took us in his office, and we talked a little bit. We watched some of my film and he broke it down a little bit then.
"We (actually) went down there last year but they didn't show us as much as they did during this trip. We talked to their strength and conditioning coach, and he just talked about what they expect from you there as a player at KU, what to expect when you hit campus and what they would have you do during the summer to prepare."
Cole, who had 54 tackles and three interceptions as a junior, said he hopes more schools take the next step an offer a scholarship or continue to show more interest.
"Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Nebraska, Missouri, Arkansas are the main ones," Cole said. "I'm actually going to Arkansas on July 17th. Hopefully, I'll pick up an offer while I'm over there. KU, A&M, Texas Tech really all the schools that are showing interest. I feel like I'm real close. We didn't go against a lot of passing teams last year playing 2A, and a lot of schools know what type of athletes we have in the defensive backfield, so they don't throw the ball. "
Tulsa, the school that offered him first, is still a school that interests him, but he hopes to talk more with them over the spring and summer.
"I haven't talked to the Tulsa coach in a minute," he said. "Maybe a little bit here or there, but I really haven't been shown them much love. And I realize that I need to with them being my first offer and all."
While he does wait for more offers, Cole is working hard on trying to get even better.
"I'm just showing people how much I worked during the off-season," he said. "I've gained 15 pounds since last season just to show everybody I'm a hard worker, and I have a hard work ethic. Really I want to go to a school that they take pride in their defense. I'm real big guy on facilities. I care about the whole aspect of the school about everything."
