Rivals250 to Watch presented by Under Armour defensive back Tyrek Cole recently announced his top ten via Twitter and the SEC and ACC are heavily represented. In no order his list reads Miami, Alabama, South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Ole Miss, and LSU.
Cole attended the UM-UF game a few weeks ago and got a chance to watch two of the teams in his top ten. Cole said, "That game was great, very intense. There was a bunch of talent, it was competitive. The Miami coaches showed a lot of love. Before the game I was eating the coaches and recruits. After the game I went into the locker room."
The four-star cover man said he is planning to go to the Clemson-South Carolina game in November with teammate Andre Godfrey.
He indicated playing time would be a big factor in his recruitment. Schools like FSU, Miami, and South Carolina could be moving up the list for Cole based on the strong start to their season. The 'Noles have caught the eye of most recruits with their high level of play led by Jameis Winston and a stingy defense.
"I'm looking at Florida State heavy," noted Cole. "The defense is great. Florida State always has a lot of talent on defense whether it's the front seven or back four."
His family grew up watching the Hurricanes, but he doesn't admit to having a childhood favorite. Cole said he feels most comfortable with coaches at Miami and South Carolina.
He is likely to make a decision during his senior season or at the 2015 Under Armour All-American Game.
