Cole Linehan, a 6-4, 275 pound defensive lineman from Banks (Ore.) has been to Oregon several times in the past but took his first official visit this past weekend to Eugene and said he loved what he had to see.
“I had a great team starting when they picked me up in a private jet,” Linehan said. “That was very sweet. They feed you like crazy on those trips and I think I probably out on about five pounds. Igor (Olshansky) was my host and it was cool to hang with him, he’s a good guy. I’m being recruited as a defensive tackle and he would be a good guy to learn from.
“Oregon is a strong program and that’s what I’m looking for in a school. I’m not close to committing anywhere right now. I still have my trips to Washington (Jan. 9) and Oregon State (Jan. 16) and I’m hoping to set something up in the next week or so with Cal. Once I’m all done with my visits, I’ll sit down and try to figure out where the best place for me to go is.
“It’s going to be a tough decision because my brother is at Oregon State and we’re pretty close. He really wants me to play with him and obviously doesn’t like Oregon. At the same time, he wants me to do what is best for me as does the rest of my family. Right now, I just don’t have a clue.”
