Colbert can see himself in Nebraska

Djimon Colbert is one of the most talented juniors in the 500-mile radius for Nebraska in 2017. The 6-foot-1 and 186-pound safety from Kansas City (Mo.) Winnetonka was in Lincoln for the season opener. The talented junior has seen it before and says that there is nothing that quite lives up to it anywhere else.
"I have always loved being up there in Lincoln on gameday," Colbert said. "Nothing beats it. I can see myself playing in the defense especially when they go cover one."

One of the things that Colbert wanted to accomplish this weekend was to spend some time with the new staff in Lincoln. Colbert had received the offer from Bo Pelini and his staff. Colbert has been trying to get to know the new staff to go along with the school that he already knows so much about.
"I spoke with Coach Kenny Wilhite and some other coaches, but I can't remember their names. They are a great group of coaches and I feel will make Nebraska a championship team."
While in Lincoln before the game on Saturday there was some time to check out some of the facilities at Nebraska. Colbert said that he really loves the facilities and all of the technology that Nebraska offers with their facilities.
"We went around and saw the weight room and the indoor practice field," Colbert said. "I loved everything about the facilities. It's all new stuff and all top technology in the sports medicine building."
Colbert is just a few hours away in Kansas City so getting back to Lincoln isn't too difficult to do. Colbert says that there aren't any immediate plans to get back to Lincoln again, but he says that he would like to for another game this season.
"I don't know yet," Colbert said. "I think that I am going to try and make it back up there for sure before the season ends."
Winnetonka suffered a loss this week. Colbert said that he played well making a number of tackles. He says that he didn't get tested and doubts that he will because teams will try to go after the inexperienced cornerbacks instead.
"We lost on Friday," Colbert said "I played good and had a lot of tackles. Teams just don't test where I am cause we have a lot of young cornerbacks and they try and take advantage."
