Cofield plans visits

Tarboro, N.C. offensive tackle Takoby Cofield is still sitting on two official offers. The 6-foot-6, 289-pounder is considering trips to a handful of schools the next few weeks starting this weekend.
"On Saturday, I'm going to Duke," he said. "Then I'm headed to Virginia Tech and Virginia around the Nike Camp in early May. More than likely I'm going to try to stop by those schools before the camp.

"I also plan to go to camp at both of those schools this summer, probably in June."
He went further about camps this summer.
"I'm thinking about going through about six to eight camps," he said. "Then I'm planning to announce on August 14th. That is when the high school jamboree is."
With offers from East Carolina and Duke, are there any leaders at this time?
"East Carolina and Duke are up there and when I get an official offer from someone else then I'll put them in that group as well," he stated. "That's how I'm separating the schools that are seriously interested and the ones just talking."
This past weekend the Carolina prospect participated in the VTO camp. How did he do?
"It was great," he said. "I saw a lot of good competition from South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. I did well, but I still have to improve a lot. It was an enjoyable experience."
