Coffeyville OL one to watch

He played on the same team as then highly-ranked offensive lineman Matt Boss.
But now that Joe Blaes is at Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College some people think that Blaes could end up being the better Division I prospect, compared to his former teammate that has struggled to find a starting role at Kansas State.

"He's probably got some of the best feet that I've seen in my 12 years coaching here," Coffeyville assistant Rico Cherico said. "We've had five NFL offensive linemen through here, and Joe has about as good feet of any of them. He is downright mean. He's a big ole country kid, too, that will knock you on your (butt)."
Blaes admits the recruiting process has kind of started off slow for him. He's not received any calls to this point and most of his attention has gone through his junior college coach and through the mail.
"To be honest I haven't gotten any calls. I've got some letters, but no calls," he said. "I've gotten a lot of stuff from New Mexico, Temple, Southern Miss, Southern Methodist, that's about it. "I'm not really leaning toward anybody, and I'm just kind of thinking about it all."
"I'd like to go to Oklahoma State. I talked to them some in the spring."
Blaes said he would like to stay close to home near Kansas, plus he's looking for a school that offers a degree in education.
"I'd also like to have some playing time," he said.
